St. Antony’s Catholic College has appointed two experienced senior leaders from near neighbours Loreto Grammar School as their new Executive and Associate Heads.

Loreto’s Headteacher Jane Beever has strategic control while deputy Fiona Wright is the Associate Head responsible for day to day management.

Jane Beever is a National Leader in Education and has been the Headteacher at Loreto Grammar since 2006. In that time she has overseeen a sustained improvement in academic performance, while developing the cultural, community, spiritual and sporting life of the school. Educated at Bellerive Grammar School and reading Languages at Liverpool and Leeds universities, Mrs Beever was appointed to the panel of the nation’s top heads in April 2013.

Fiona Wright has been a Deputy Head at Loreto since 2008 and is a graduate of Staffordshire University in Business Studies.

Joanne Clarke, Chair of Governors, said: “Jane Beever has already been closely involved with St. Antony’s by offering support in her role as the Headteacher of our partner school and the continuity this appointment brings means we are able to move forward with our plans seamlessly.”

Jane Beever added: “It is a privilege for me and the new Associate Head Fiona Wright to join St. Antony’s which has such a long tradition of providing high quality Catholic education in Urmston. It is clear the staff at St. Antonys care deeply about every pupil and the parents are enthusiastic in their support for the continuing efforts to drive up standards.”
