Anna is a marine biogeochemist and the photo was taken on board the Sir David Attenborough, near to Singy Island.
Whilst on board, Anna took water samples to help understand carbon uptake in the ocean, as well as deploying an array of instruments on a mooring that will stay in the water in the Weddell sea for a year or two collecting data. This will help us understand more of what goes on over the winter months when it is difficult to reach the area.
