Headteacher’s Welcome

Welcome to St Antony's Roman Catholic School

On behalf of our students, staff and governors, I am delighted to welcome you to St Antony's Roman Catholic School.

St Antony's is a thriving and oversubscribed 11–16 Catholic school at the heart of the Urmston community. We are proud to serve families from across Trafford and beyond, providing an ambitious education rooted firmly in Gospel values and a commitment to helping every young person flourish.

One of the great strengths of St Antony's is our size. As a smaller school, we are able to offer something increasingly rare in education today: every child is truly known as an individual. Our staff build strong relationships with pupils and families, ensuring that no child is overlooked and that support, guidance and encouragement are always close at hand. Parents frequently tell us that they value the strong sense of community that exists here and the confidence that comes from knowing their child is recognised, cared for and supported every day.

At St Antony's, we believe that every child is uniquely gifted and capable of achieving great things. Our mission is to ensure that all pupils are known, valued and supported to become the very best version of themselves. We achieve this through a broad and ambitious curriculum, high-quality teaching, exceptional pastoral care and a relentless commitment to high standards.

As a Catholic school, our faith shapes everything we do. Inspired by the teachings and example of Jesus Christ, we strive to create a community built upon respect, love, integrity, service and resilience. These values are not simply words on a page; they are lived out each day through the relationships we build, the support we offer one another and the contributions our pupils make to the wider community. Our Catholic identity is visible in the daily life of the school, in our prayer and worship, in our commitment to social justice and service, and in the genuine care shown for every member of our community.

We are proud of the warm and inclusive culture that exists at St Antony's. Ours is a school where diversity is celebrated, where pupils of all faiths and none are welcomed, and where every individual is encouraged to feel a true sense of belonging. Exceptional pastoral support sits at the heart of our work. We know that children achieve their best when they feel safe, happy and valued, and our dedicated pastoral team works tirelessly to ensure that every pupil receives the support they need to thrive both academically and personally. We work closely with parents and carers because we know that strong partnerships between home and school are fundamental to helping young people succeed.

Alongside our commitment to academic excellence, we place great importance on developing character, leadership and personal responsibility. Through our extensive enrichment programme, chaplaincy opportunities, student leadership roles, performing arts productions, Combined Cadet Force, sporting activities, careers education and charitable work, pupils are encouraged to discover their talents, broaden their horizons and make a positive difference to the world around them.

We have high expectations of all our pupils in relation to attendance, conduct, effort and achievement because we believe that young people thrive when they are both challenged and supported. Our staff are dedicated to ensuring that every pupil receives the right support at the right time so that they can achieve success both inside and beyond the classroom.

The last few years have been an exciting period in the school's development. Standards at St Antony's are improving rapidly. Through significant investment in leadership, curriculum development, staff expertise and teaching quality, outcomes for pupils have risen substantially and continue to do so. We are ambitious for every young person and determined to ensure that all pupils leave us equipped with the knowledge, qualifications, confidence and character they need to succeed in the next stage of their education and beyond.

As a result, St Antony's is becoming an increasingly popular choice for families seeking a school where children are known and valued, supported exceptionally well, encouraged to grow in faith and challenged to achieve highly.

I hope our website gives you a flavour of life at St Antony's. However, the best way to understand our school is to visit us in person. I would be delighted to welcome you to St Antony's, show you around our school and give you the opportunity to meet the wonderful young people and dedicated staff who make our community such a special place.

I look forward to meeting you.

Mr A Campbell
